Hi! I’m Sarah.
(Yep, that’s me!)
Thanks for joining me on this crazy journey!
I decided I wanted to run a marathon in early June of 2014.
A couple weeks later, after much research and confusion about how to actually accomplish this goal, FREE TO RUN came about. I decided to blog about it and invite people to go through the experience with me, because most of the information I found was very intimidating and didn’t seem like it was for new people.
There’s something freeing about running, but when I tried to figure out how to go the distance, I just felt boxed in and bogged down. Perhaps you’ve been there, too.
After many ups and downs, I reached the first part of my goal (a half marathon). Then, I trained for a full 26.2 miles, which I finished on April 4, 2015.
As someone who is still relatively new to running, I’ve learned a lot and am continuing to learn more about running and living an active lifestyle. My mission is to document what I’ve learned; my hope is that someone who feels overwhelmed like I did has the tools to cross the finish line, too.
A little more about me:
I love to write and want to write a book someday.
I love fruit, especially strawberries.
I also love sweets, perhaps too much.
My day job is working in marketing and PR.
My favorite color is purple.
I love music; one of my favorite artists of all time is Jon Foreman, but I love a variety of sounds and genres.
I love coffee.
I love to cook.
I love to read.
I love my dog, Daisy. We recently rescued her. She is a 1 year old, Aussie/Great Pyrenees mix, we think.
I love Jesus; he’s a cool guy.
I love my husband; he’s also a cool guy.
Anything else? Just ask.
Here’s to new adventures and accomplishing what you never thought possible.
