Disclosure: I received a sample of Pjuractive 2skin as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews! All opinions are my own.
At this point in my running journey, I’ve tried several different ways to avoid the dreaded chafing problem. This includes using nothing, which resulted me thanking the running gods for volunteers with Vaseline at Rock N Roll San Antonio. When I heard about Pjuractive’s 2skin product, I wanted to see how it stacked up against other products that I’ve had positive experiences with.
Pjuractive 2skin is a water and sweat resistant gel that helps protect against chafing and blisters for athletes (including runners). It creates an invisible, protective film directly on the problem area. I have been testing the product for a month, including during the Austin Half Marathon and through my training for the Cap 10K, and it definitely does what it claims to do!
What sets it apart:
The application of 2skin is pretty simple – simply squeeze a pearl-sized amount at a time and apply with your hands to the desired area. With other products, I’ve had to wash my hands due to the dry time/sticky feeling, 2skin dries almost instantly and doesn’t leave a residue. I was skeptical of the application method at first – I’ve used stick and roller ball products previously – but it turned out to be surprisingly convenient. I had a lot more control with this method, and for those who want to apply multiple layers, I imagine you would like that, too.
I also loved the texture/feel of 2skin when it was on. It didn’t feel like I was wearing any product once it dried, and while my skin felt soft, it never felt oily, waxy, or wet.
Other benefits I found worked for me:
- Non-pore clogging formula
- Lasted for several hours
- Sensitive skin-safe
- Worked in the hot and cold temperatures of Texas
- Didn’t stain my clothes
What’s the rub (pun intended):
Well, there was no rub to be seen on my feet, waistband, thighs or arms (or anywhere)!
Honestly, the only thing I’m unsure about is the ingredients (they are not ingredients I’ve heard of before). I did some quick Google searching and didn’t see anything truly alarming, though I’m not an expert. I also place a fair amount of trust in the folks at BibRave who work directly with a lot of the companies whose products I test. They are like-minded people and research the opportunities presented to us to ensure the products are reputable. I recommend you learn more about each of the ingredients, if they are a major concern to you.
About a minute after this, the product was completely dry.
2skin can be purchased on us.Pjuractive.com. While $21.99 for 3.4 ounces may seem pricy initially, it actually costs less per ounce than other products I’ve tried for this same issue.
Thanks for stopping by, as always. Let me know if you have any funny chafing stories in the comments.
Cheers to helping reduce the number of said funny chafing stories!
